Of Mice and Men – Context

So far we have considered the context in which Steinbeck wrote ‘Of Mice and Men’ and the setting on the novella. Initially we looked at a range of photos from the era and then described them, inferred meaning and posed questions. We also learnt about the Great Depression and the Dustbowls of America. You then demonstrated this knowledge through the letters you wrote to a relative in Kansas describing your journey to California, in search of the American Dream.
